Alumni Association Awards: Call for Nominations

The awards committee of UE’s Alumni Association Board of Directors is seeking nominations for the 2010 awards. Four awards are presented each year including the Distinguished Alumnus Award, Young Alumnus Award, Edie Bates Volunteer Service Award and Samuel Orr Honorary Alumnus Award. For more information about the awards and a listing of past receipients visit Alumni Assocation Online . The nomination deadline for consideration this year is August 3, 2009.

Alumni Association Board of Directors: Call for Nominations

The nominating committee of UE’s Alumni Association Board of Directors is beginning the nomination process for the 2010 new class of directors. Visit Alumni Assocation Online for more information about the Alumni Board and duties of the directors. An interest form can be found on that page as well. If you are interesting in serving, please complete and return the interest form by August 28. You may also nominate other alumni by submitting his/her name to alumni@evansville.edu . The slate of new directors will be approved at the November meeting of the Alumni Board and new terms will begin in February 2010.

Save the Date! UEAAA Reunion 2010

April 23 and 24, 2010 the University of Evansville will hold its first ever African-American Alumni (UEAAA) Reunion. The UEAAA Reunion will be a fun-filled weekend for all African-American alumni who attended the University of Evansville. It offers a great chance to reconnect with one another and connect with current African American students. If you attended or graduated from UE, or are a friend of UE, save Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 for UEAAA Reunion 2010!

2010 Harlaxton Alumni Trip Dates Announced

The dates for the 2010 Harlaxton Alumni trip are set for July 2 – 9. The trip features a seven-night stay at the manor with day trips and other special events planned. It is open to all UE and Harlaxton alumni and friends. The trip format will be similar to this and past years. With 3700 users UE Alumni Online is a powerful tool to stay connected with classmates, and now it supports Facebook Connect, making it even easier to share what's happening with your friends on Facebook. Alumni Volunteers Needed in Indianapolis

If you would like to be involved with planning alumni events in the Indianapolis area, we can always use your help. Please contact Jeff Lake, Indianapolis Regional Development Officer at jl113@evansville.edu . Planning volunteers attend quarterly meetings and generate ideas for new events and programs. They also help promote events by contacting other alumni.

UE is working hard to bring you the lastest and greatest news from UE and its Alumni. We would love to hear your latest news and share it through class notes. Don't forget to include a picture! The best way to submit your news and pictures is by sending them to alumni@evansville.edu .

We are also looking for UE and You Submissions. This feature in the UE Magazine shows off our alumni spreading purple pride by being decked out in UE gear at any location. Some great places to be seen are professional sporting events, zoos, vacations and anywhere else you travel. So snap those pics and send them in!

Build a Legacy with the UE Brick Campaign

Brick

A personalized brick is a great way to leave your legacy to the University of Evansville. With a one-time gift of $250 directed to the Ridgway University Center, your legacy will be proudly displayed on an alumni patio outside the new center. Your brick may have up to three lines of text, with up to 18 characters per line. You may purchase a brick online by visiting https://www.evansville.edu/give.

If you purchased a brick before Febuary 31,2009 your brick has been laid. Be sure to come back to campus to take a look! The bricks are located on the walkway of the east side of the Student Center in between the Ridgway University Center and Wallace Graves Hall. Remember bricks make great gifts too! Share your Favorite Recipe with UE and Help Students!

Recipe submissions are currently being accepted for "What's Cookin' at UE", a cookbook featuring recipes from alumni, faculty, students, parents and other friends of UE. Recipes will be accepted online now through July 31, 2009. The finished product should be available in the late fall and would make an excellent holiday gift.

Look for cookbook order information later. All proceeds from sells of the cookbook will go directly toward student financial aid.

UE Magazine is Now Online!

Don't worry! You will still get your print edition right in your mailbox, but the digital edition includes all the content of the print version, with added features such as photo galleries. While the print edition has space for only a few photographs of UE events, the online version can link you to many more pictures of your former classmates and their families. You can also download stories and send to friends.

U•Envision Campaign Reaches Over $69 Million

The University has raised $69,700,000 toward the goal of $80 million in the U•Envision campaign. The campaign made possible the opening of the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration Building and the newly completed Dr. William L. Ridgway University Center.
