Harlaxton Trip Registration Begins
The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations offers you an opportunity to relive your Harlaxton Experience or to capture those memories for the first time. The trip is open to all UE and Harlaxton alumni and their family members/guests.
The package includes a seven-night stay at Harlaxton Manor, educational sessions, day trips to places of interest in the surrounding area and other special events.
Trip dates are July 2-9, 2010. Packages offered range from $1,000-$1,300 per person. Deposits of either $300 or $350 per person are being accepted now through February 22, 2010 to hold a place for you and your guests.

Young Alumni Class Challenge
Classes of 2000-2009
Last year, the Class of ’07 rose to the challenge of UE Trustee Curran D. Cotton’s - Cotton Pickin Challenge by achieving a 16% alumni giving rate and raising a little over $7,600 in only ONE MONTH!
This year, the Class of ’07 now issues a challenge to the classes of 2000-2009. Try and beat us!
Make a gift to ANY fund between now and December 31, 2009 to be counted in this initiative.

Alumni and Families Invited to Veterans Day Celebration at UE
 | The new student organization, UE VETS (Veterans Education Transition Support), is planning events on campus to celebrate Veterans Day on November 11, 2009. The campus community, veteran alumni and their families are invited to attend. Some highlights for the day include:
11:00 a.m. Veterans Day Celebration Service - Ridgway University Center, Eykamp Hall, Room 251

The service will feature, distinguished UE alumnae and trustee, Major General (Ret.) Verna Fairchild ’72 as guest speaker.
10:30-11:00 Tours of “Tin City”, located between Neu Chapel and Moore Residence Hall
Prior to the service, tours of the “Tin City” dig excavated by the Department of Archaeology will be available. “Tin City” was student housing built to accommodate the rush of students after World War II and the Korean War, many of whom were taking advantage of the G.I. Bill.There will also be a display about artifacts discovered in the UE library from Nov. 2 through Nov. 15.

Don't worry! You will still get your print edition right in your mailbox, but the digital edition includes all the content of the print version, with added features such as photo galleries. While the print edition has space for only a few photographs of UE events, the online version can link you to many more pictures of your former classmates and their families. You can also download stories and send to friends.

UE Progresses with Your Help!
So much progress is evident at UE.....
•UE has been named a Top Ten Midwestern University by US News & World Report. This year we also nabbed the #2 spot for Best Value, and #6 for Strong Commitment to Teaching!
•Freshman enrollment was 701, larger than any UE freshman class since the 1990’s.
•For the first time in nearly 20 years, UE Athletics produced three Academic All-Americans, and nine of the University’s 14 teams earned academic honors from their national organizations.
•UE is among the most military-friendly campuses in the nation, according to GI Jobs, and offers free tuition to qualifying veterans.
•The University’s Civil Engineering Program recently earned the American Society of Civil Engineers’ prestigious Walter LeFevre Award for 2009.
•The 2009 Nursing Class has tripled in size from last year! The Dunigan Nursing Lab recently opened, providing real-life simulations to train top-notch health-care professionals.
