Alumni Cruise 2013 - A Huge Success

Cruise Members

The Alumni Alaska Cruise was a huge success and a lot of fun for 36 alumni, friends, and family members. Alumni boarded the Rhapsody of the Seas ship on July 19 in Seattle and returned on July 26, 2013. Guy Banta '73, one of three alumni veterans on the cruise commented "I enjoyed the camaraderie with old friends and classmates. This was a special cruise because the late John MacCauley '74 started the University of Evansville Alumni Cruises, along with the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations, in 2011, and we were able to be with his wife, Mary MacCauley M'75, to toast him, present her with a plaque, and make the surprise announcement about the John MacCauley Jr. Memorial Scholarship for Veterans in memory of John."

Do You Know a Future UE Student?

Most high school students spend a great deal of time deciding which University is the best fit, and exploring major and career options can be an overwhelming process. The University of Evansville offers the Career Advantage Program (CAP), a unique opportunity for high school students visiting campus. Through CAP, we encourage prospective students to begin their major and career exploration early. By working with a career professional, students participate in facilitated self-assessment to discover what their strengths are and how those strengths can be applied in different environments. If you know a high school student who is currently in this process, send them to your alma mater! Complete the online referral to waive that student's application fee.

Volunteers Needed for UE Global Friends and Family Program

The Office of Cultural Engagement and International Services matches families with UE international students for intercultural communication and understanding for all involved. The Global Friends and Families Program is not a home-stay program, and matches will vary in length due to differing academic programs offered for international students. Students want to experience true American culture through a meal around your table, the bleachers at your child's soccer game, or simply a conversation over a cup of coffee. Plus, we'll provide you with ideas along the way. Find out more and register online to be a Global Friend.
