The Center for Career Development has had a busy spring with career events and networking! On February 13, our staff took 37 students and four alumni to Indianapolis for the Career Expo where over 100 employers gathered to discuss current opening for internships and full-time positions. More than 10 students returned to Evansville with a scheduled interview thanks to this event. The following week, we hosted our annual Career Day and were at full capacity with 79 employers registered for the event. Students and alumni attended to network with employers searching for engineering, marketing, health care, finance, and service-oriented interns and full-time employees. Be sure to check our online calendar and participate in future career events with your alma mater! Career events and services are available to alumni as well as students.
Education majors in search of a full-time teaching position have two events to attend this spring. On April 8, 2014, the colleges and universities of our region will sponsor a Teacher Recruitment Fair at the University of Southern Indiana. This fair is open to alumni, and all interested candidates should register by contacting Linda Wulf at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additionally, the Center for Career Development has joined a Central Indiana College Career Consortium that sponsors a Teacher Interview Day for current students only. On April 23 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds near Avon, Indiana, the 35th annual Teacher Interview Day will be held. Current students are welcome to attend and encouraged to register at www.evansville.edu/careercenter. For more information please contact our office at 812-488-1083 or e-mail email@example.com.
There are still plenty of recruitment opportunities for students during this busy season of professional, internship, and cooperative education employment. Alumni should consider joining the University of Evansville LinkedIn page where full-time professional positions are posted for candidates with experience. Join now and view postings; you are also free to post your organization’s openings.
