Welcome to the Class of 2014

The Class of 2014 joined the UE Alumni Association on Saturday, May 10.  Congratulations and welcome to our 566 new members.  An extra congratulations goes out to Bryce Weiler and Victoria Bruner on being names the Outstanding Senior Service award recipients.  Find out more about them at Senior Bill McClure delivered the Senior Keynote Address at commencement, a now three-year tradition at UE.  The Alumni Association's Outstanding Teacher Award was presented to Jennie Ebeling, PhD, associate professor of archaeology.

Class of 2013 Graduates Doing Well

Reports are in and members of the Class of 2013 have settled into the real world nicely.  Career information was available for 97 percent of the 660 of 2013 graduates.  72 percent are employed, 18 percent in graduate school, 6 percent actively seeking employment, and 4 percent are not seeking employment at this time.  The median salary is $42, 500.  65 percent of the employed graduates are working in Indiana and 51 percent of the graduates in graduate school were studying in Indiana.  When entering UE in the fall of 2009, 57 percent of the class was from Indiana.

Nominations Now Being Taken for Alumni Association Awards

Each February at Founders Day, the Alumni Association presents four awards to individual alumni who have made great achievements in their careers and in service to others and UE.  The Alumni Awards Committee of the UE Alumni Association Board of Directors is now seeking nominations for the following awards:

Distinguished Alumnus Award
Young Alumnus Award
Samuel Orr Honorary Alumnus Award
Edie Bates Volunteer Service Award

UE Student-Alumni Mentoring Program - Alumni Volunteers Needed

The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations is seeking alumni mentors to assist with the Student-Alumni Mentoring Program for the 2014-2015 academic year.

UE's Student-Alumni Mentoring Program connects juniors and seniors seeking career guidance with mentors based on the student's major or career interest.  The mentoring program is a key component of UE Connect, which is a professional network of UE alumni, parents, and friends who assist current students and young alumni with career development needs.

The program will begin in September and will conclude in April 2015.

Objective of the program:

  • Provide insight into career opportunities through students' interaction with alumni.
  • Promote student leadership and encourage experiential education involvement.
  • Offer contacts and networking opportunities in the students' fields of interest.

Aid UE with Student Recruitment by joining LEAGUE

Leading Edge Alumni (with friends) Guiding the University of Evansville is a worldwide network of alumni and friends who serve as goodwill ambassadors and assist UE with student-recruitment.  LEAGUE volunteers have a tremendous responsibility by aiding the University in their efforts to expand its prospect and applicant pools and extend its geographic reach, allowing for greater diversity and selectivity of students. Volunteers also have a significant impact on prospective students and their families as they begin their search into higher education.

LEAGUE volunteers participatie in the following activities:

  • Serve as alumni representatives at college fairs in place of or with UE admission counselors.
  • Represent the University at high school scholarship programs.
  • Contact prospective, admitted, and deposited students through e-mails, letters, or telephone.
  • Host or attend receptions for prospective students.
  • Host or attend send-off parties of admitted students.
  • Volunteer at campus visit events such as Open Houses.
