Financial Aid and Student Accounts Information for 2015-16

The Office of Financial Aid has sent Financial Aid Notifications to UE students for 2015-16 whose files are complete.  After you receive your Financial Aid Notification, please follow all required steps to finalize your aid.

If you have not yet received a Financial Aid Notification, either via e-mail or postal mail, please view the “FA Status by Year” link on WebAdvisor to determine what is needed to finalize your file. Furthermore, view “FA by Year” to view the specific status of each type of aid you have been awarded to determine if you must act to finalize the aid.

The Office of Student Accounts has made the fall bill available on WebAdvisor. E-mail notification of the fall bill is sent to the student’s UE e-mail and other e-mails designated by the student. Students must grant parents WebAdvisor access so they can view the student’s financial aid and billing information.
When viewing your student account/bill on WebAdvisor, remember that the “View Bills” link is a snapshot of your account on the day the bill is dated, and does not change between billing dates. To view your current account balance, which reflects activity between billing statements (such as payments you have made or new aid that has been deducted), select “Account Summary by Term.”

    Questions? Financial Aid – 812-488-2364, 800-424-8634, or financialaid@evansville.edu
    Student Accounts - 812-488-2565 or offstudaccts@evansville.edu
    WebAdvisor Help – 812-488-2077 or WAassist@evansville.edu

ATTENTION: FEDERAL STUDENT AID PIN HAS BEEN REPLACED BY FSA ID

All students and parents who use certain US Department of Education websites such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and studentloans.gov, will be prompted to convert their existing PIN to the new FSA ID – a username and password. Individuals who have never had a PIN will also be able to create an FSA ID for use going forward. Your FSA ID confirms your identity when you access or correct your financial aid information and/or electronically sign federal student aid documents, such as a Master Promissory Note for federal loans.

Students and parents should go to fsaid.ed.gov to create an FSA ID before attempting to complete any required activities on these federal sites, such as using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool in the FAFSA, completing Entrance Counseling, or signing a Master Promissory Note for Federal Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized student loans or the Federal Direct PLUS loan for parents. Online instructions will lead the user through the set-up process.

Class begins August 31, so register today!

    Career Planning for Seniors
What is your graduating senior doing in May? The Center for Career Development is available to help students finalize résumés, develop professional cover letters, and practice confident and effective interviewing skills. If graduate school is in their future, we are also happy to help students in their search for the best program and draft a qualifying Statement of Purpose. Students and alumni may schedule in-person, phone, and Skype appointments with career development staff by calling 812-488-1083.

    Student-Alumni Mentoring Program
University of Evansville students have the opportunity to participate in the Student-Alumni Mentoring Program.  Through a collaboration with the Center for Career Development and the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations, current juniors and seniors are directly connected with alumni and friends of UE in order to establish a professional and mutually beneficial relationship. Please encourage your student to participate and contact our office at 812-488-1083, or e-mail Linda Wulf (lw8@evansville.edu) with any questions you may have.

    Career Advantage Program
The Center for Career Development continues to enhance the UE experience by offering even more to our current and prospective students! High school students who are eagerly anticipating college life are encouraged to meet with the UE Center for Career Development staff during their campus visit. At that time, they will discuss their individual results of a personality assessment designed to give students a clearer vision of the many career options that would appeal to them. If you have a student who is a potential Purple Ace, please consult with your admission counselor about taking advantage of this great opportunity!

    Career Travel Fund
The University of Evansville’s Center for Career Development provides transportation to four Indianapolis career events throughout the academic year! These no- or low-cost opportunities are made possible by the Career Travel Fund through the generosity of the Lilly Endowment. The fund also allows students to apply for up to $500 in reimbursement for costs incurred in career-related travel throughout the state of Indiana. Learn more about this opportunity here, and encourage your student to apply for this amazing benefit!

Do you have questions for Breakfast with Parents Council?

To help us prepare for this event, we are requesting that you submit questions, comments, and/or discussion topics via e-mail ahead of time. While anyone is welcome to ask questions that morning, our goal is to be able to prepare thoughtful answers to as many questions as possible before hand. Having a chance to prepare for some of the questions, comments, and discussion topics ahead of time will help us to do just that. Please respond to this e-mail with your questions, comments, and/or discussion topics by August 28, 2015.
