Updates from the Office of Admissions

The Office of Admission hosted 246 accepted high school seniors during Road Trip with over 24 states represented on campus in February. Students participated in campus life, had the change to attend the hypnotist show, and then cheer on the Men’s Basketball team at the Ford Center with one student getting the chance to shoot a half-court shot for free tuition.

We would like to invite interested students and families to visit campus either by attending an Open House or Purple Visit Day or through an individual visit. If you or someone you know is interested in visiting campus, go online to the campus visit webpage or call the Office of Admission at 812-488-2468.

Helpful information, from Residence Life, as we head into the end of the year!

The following is information already sent to your student living in a residence hall. I've included information and important dates about checking out of housing. Encourage your student to read through the information carefully to avoid missing deadlines and incurring any unnecessary fees. If you have any questions, be sure to ask any member of my staff. Dean's Office: College of Engineering and Computer Science

The College of Engineering and Computer Science will hold its annual Spring Picnic at the end of the semester. This year’s picnic is hosted by the student chapter of ASME and the Dean’s Advisory Council. It will take place on Reading/Study Day at Wesselman Park.  Dean Gerhart will announce the college’s outstanding teacher of the year at the picnic.
The College of Engineering and Computer Science will hold their annual UE Engineering OPTIONS summer camps in June for high school girls and middle school girls and boys. Participants in the programs will have a better understanding of what types of opportunities are available in fields most closely related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). For more information, see

Baccalaureate Service

The annual Baccalaureate Service with processional and full academic regalia is scheduled before Commencement on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in Neu Chapel. The Baccalaureate Service is an inclusive religious service, which honors the graduating class. It is a time to reflect and give thanks in the context of high University ceremony. If you are interested in processing with the University chaplain, Board of Trustee members, and faculty at Baccalaureate, you should plan to meet in Grabill Lounge, located on the lower level of Neu Chapel, by 9:30 a.m. on May 7 (Don’t forget your cap and gown). There will be open seating for friends and family, but early arrivals secure seats with the best view.

In order to reserve an appropriate number of seats in Neu Chapel, please follow this link and add your name to the list of those processing at Baccalaureate:
